groundZero's blog

Hello!!

October 22, 2008 groundZero

Hey groundZero! We have a blog now! I guess this means you get to hear from me even more now. lol  It’s pretty cool. I’ve never really been into the whole blog thing (probably because I’ve never had one) but it’s going to be pretty awesome being able to just write down what I’m thinking or what God’s been doing in my life. I think it’s really important that we all share what God’s been doing in our lives with others. Not to brag or to show off, but to encourage each other. This thought brings me to something God has had on my mind for a while: community. I’ve been thinking and wrestling with what it means to be a community centered around Jesus. I’ve been praying that God would show me how to bring about more of a feeling of community in groundZero. Now I’m not saying we don’t have a community at groundZero, in fact I can’t think of when I’ve had more fun than hanging out with all of you. But there is always room for growth in everything. I know that simply from my own life. lol  So let’s continue to come together, pray for each other, share with each other, and most importantly get to know each other. Let’s not just stick to the group of friends we feel comfortable with, but rather break out sometimes and get to know someone new or someone you’ve just never really talked to before. The is the beauty of the church, the greatness of the body of Christ is that all of us can come together from all sorts of different backgrounds and walks of life and be together, laughing with each other, helping each other and loving each other.

Until next time gZ, you guys are awesome!            – Nate

Yah Nate I hear ya. It’s funny, but we almost forget how powerful community is. It’s amazing what happens when a group of people get together and hang out. Not only do we need community, but we can’t forget about encouraging one another and actually challenge each other. jesus created an awesome community, but the cool thing was he always challenged them in their thinking and encouraged them.
