Breakthrough

May 26, 2009 groundZero

Hey groundZero!

It’s been a while since I’ve been on here. Finally have the time now that the conference is over and school is winding down to write some blog posts. lol  What an amazing night we had last Friday. I truly believe that breakthrough not only took place in the lives of so many individuals, but I firmly believe that breakthrough has begun for groundZero as a whole. I’ve been continuing to think about the subject of breakthrough. It is a word that we are constantly using in the church. It seems we are always talking about breakthrough to the point where I believe we have begun to belittle it’s meaning. When I think of breakthrough, I think of transition. Our lives are full of transition. We go from middle school, to high school. From high school to college. People go from being single to being married. There are so many points of transition in our lives. So many points of breakthrough. There are those, like going from high school to college, that are physical. Transitions that we physically make and choose. But there are also those that are God inspired transitions in our lives. As we spiritually mature in Him we go through so many breakthroughs or transitions.

When I think of the transitions God brings us through in our lives I think of a butterfly breaking out of a cocoon. You see, for a caterpillar to transform into a butterfly it takes time. It needs to sit still in the cocoon and simply wait for the transition to occur. Sometimes we are so impatient when it comes to transition. We want God to move in our lives and to move now. If a caterpillar were to rip out of its cocoon prematurely, it would not reach its full potential. It wouldn’t be the beautiful butterfly it is meant to be. God has us in seasons for a reason and a purpose. When we are in our youth there is a reason for it. We should embrace our teenage years as a time for God to shape us and to mold us. So many of us though want to tear out of that cocoon. We want to move. We want to begin to see the plan of God unfold now. We want to get involved in relationships now. All because we are simply so impatient sometimes. But when we wait. When we allow God to work on us in the season we are in now rather than trying to rush into the next, when we allow the transitions of our lives and breakthrough to happen on God’s time, we will be blessed and will be moving in the plan and the purpose that He in his infinite wisdom has set up for us. When we rush into things prematurely we are like a butterfly with underdevelopled wings, never being able to reach the true heights that we are meant to reach. Never being able to soar as high as God has called us to go. So as the message of breakthrough is heavy on our minds this week, I encourage all of us to simply wait on God and to allow him to transition us into the next season of our lives on His time and not our own. Let Him bring us into the next level of ministry that He has set out for us. If we do, we will be able to move with greater strength and ability than if we were to try and breakthrough by our own means.

Well groundZero I hope you all have an amazing week. Know that I am praying for all of you.

- Nate
