There is a question that pervades our current culture just as it has going all the way back to the time the Apostle Paul wrote his famous letters to the Church. This question has been raised by the Jews and the Gentiles, the Gnostics and the occultists, the Catholic Church and the Protestant Movement. This question will continually be raised until Christ himself stands before us on judgement day and shows us the fullness of his sacrifice.

The question is this Who is the Real Jesus?

In the 1400’s the pope commissioned the building of the famous “Sistine Chapel” outside the Vatican. By the year 1515 most of the famous Renaissance paintings were finished by the best artists the era had to offer. What was soon realized was the paintings had become cracked and lost their coloring in just one hundred years. The vatican ordered the first of many restoration projects during the year 1625, and many followed in the years 1710, 1935, 1979, and 1994.  When I think about Christianity throughout the ages I see a similarity to the savior that started the revolution, and the Christians who potrayed Him to the world. Over time the Real Jesus became cracked and dry, He seemed to lose his color and fade into the background of the religion founded in his name. At some points the God/Man Jesus was forgotten altogether. Thankfully God always ordered a restoration project (usually referred to as Revivals) to dig through the years of grime and soot to see Jesus once again for who He really is and always was.

In trying to communicate the Real Jesus to groundZero I decided to present the Old School Jesus in an Old School way. Here is the journey we went on to discover who is the Real Jesus.
